Rep. Crank Votes to Fund the Department of Defense; Invests in America's Military Future

July 18, 2025

WASHINGTON - Early this morning, Rep. Jeff Crank (CO-05) voted in favor of the Defense Appropriations Act.

The Defense Appropriations Act invests in America's military superiority, shapes a more efficient and effective Department of Defense, protects from threats at America’s border, helps fund Golden Dome for America, and takes care of our troops and their families.

"I have always shown my support in ensuring our military is the best and most lethal in the world," said Rep. Crank. "President Trump’s successful Peace Through Strength agenda has already crippled Iran’s nuclear program, gained commitments from our European allies to pay their fair share, and countered Chinese aggression in U.S. shipping lanes.

"This bill supports the Commander in Chief's efforts to bring order back to the chaotic world inherited from the previous administration, takes care of our troops and their families, and protects the five military installations in El Paso County."

Included in the Bill:

  • Provides a 3.8% pay raise for all military personnel.
  • Approximately $13 billion for Golden Dome for America, including more than $8.8 billion in investments in Missile Defense Agency programs and $4.1 billion Space Force programs to be augmented and integrated to support the Golden Dome effort.
  • Funds Impact Aid to support public schools in military communities like Colorado Springs
  • Advances counter-drone and hypersonic missile testing and development to deter emerging threats.
  • Improving quality of life, readiness, and continuity for servicemembers by slowing permanent change of station moves, saving over $662 million.
