Rep. Crank Votes to Bolster National Security and Border Protection

January 22, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Representative Jeff Crank (CO-05) voted in favor of the Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026.

The Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026 provides the resources to protect the homeland and keep American communities safe, secure, and resilient.

"Despite attempts from the Left to defund and attack our law enforcement through the Homeland Security Appropriations Act, House Republicans are working tirelessly to ensure our law enforcement, border patrol, and other vital federal enforcement agencies continue to protect American lives," said Rep. Crank. "In my home state of Colorado, we have seen the state refuse to cooperate with our federal partners, which endangers our communities. Luckily, in El Paso County, we have a Sheriff who stands with the community and our federal law enforcement officers. I will continue to stand with our local and federal law enforcement and fight back against the Defund the Police Movement."

Background:

The Homeland Security Appropriations Act:

  • Enhances resources to detect and counter the spread of deadly drugs, like fentanyl, that poison our communities;
  • Partners with state and local law enforcement to enhance immigration enforcement and homeland defense capabilities;
  • Ends programs that incentivize illegal immigration;
  • Eliminates funding for border management activities that encouraged more aliens to cross the border illegally.
